Do you have questions about a boudoir session with us in Los Angeles? Or in Tulum?
If you’ve never had a boudoir session with us before, then you’re probably wondering how this all works, right?
I know it can be daunting to even consider a boudoir shoot…getting half naked in front of a stranger? The idea is intimidating at first for many, but it doesn’t have to be.
Did you know that approximately 85% of our clients are having their very first boudoir session ever? You’re not alone if you feel overwhelmed by booking a boudoir session and we’re here to break down some of the top inquiries we’ve been getting lately for our Los Angeles and Tulum sessions!
Some of what we like to discuss on our phone consultations, will be covered below. For more in depth discussion of what we share, be sure to schedule a call with us.
Ok, let’s dive into the details…
How many people are in the studio during my boudoir session?
It’s just you, our hair and makeup artist and myself. Our production team is super small, and we’ve kept it this way since we started 8 years ago to ensure as much comfort and ease as possible for you during your boudoir session.
In fact, during the actual photo shoot it will just be you and I in the studio! Typically our hair and makeup artist will take off once you are styled and unless we are photographing behind the scenes clips during our session (which is rare and something we need your permission for), it will just be you and I shooting together for approximately 90 minutes.
Outdoor sessions in the desert or Tulum do require extra lighting assistance, so if you are booking an outdoor session with us we’ll have a female assistant on set during the photo shoot.
Can I bring a guest to my boudoir session?
We get this question a lot and we have to respectfully decline requests to bring guests to your session. Your boudoir session is all about YOU and while having guests can be fun, it can also be distracting for both you and your photographer;) The focus should be 100% on you during your session and we don’t want you to have to worry about your guests enjoying themselves during your photo shoot. (hint: they’ll likely be bored because we’ll be busy working through all our poses in the other room)
Do you remove cellulite and scars in my photos?
Yes, we do high-end skin retouching, which means we contour and smooth skin and remove discoloration, marks, scars, etc that you don’t want in your photos. One of the most common questions we get is about cellulite and don’t worry…we’ve got you covered;)
Do my images have to go online?
Definitely not. Whether your boudoir images go online or not is entirely up to you. Your privacy is very important to us and unless you have signed an image release form, your images will never go online. Approximately 25% of our clients choose to keep their images totally private.
Do I bring my own lingerie?
Yes, you’ll want to bring your own lingerie to your boudoir shoot. We do have a collection of body jewelry on hand for you to borrow from, as well as dresses and tulle skirts.
Lingerie is such a personal choice and with so many options, we totally get how overwhelming it can be to shop for your session. So we’ve designed a prep guide to help you as you choose your wardrobe, detailing what to wear, what NOT to wear, and where to shop. Many of our clients also love to explore our Pinterest board of Boudoir Wardrobe for more out of the box ideas.
If lingerie isn’t your thing, also check out our posts, Edgy Salt Flat Boudoir Session and Tulum Wardrobe For All Comfort Levels for some unique ideas for your photo shoot.
I hope this post helped to answer a lot of your boudoir session questions about our photo shoots in LA and Tulum.
