Losing Weight Before Your LA Boudoir Shoot

Losing Weight Before Your LA Boudoir Shoot

  • Post comments:4 Comments

There is no such thing as the perfect time to book your LA boudoir shoot.  In fact, your boudoir shoot is about learning to celebrate your body through each stage of life.  This means that no matter your weight, age, or confidence level, you are worthy of experiencing the magic of our boudoir sessions.

Something that I hear all the time is, “I want to do a photo shoot, but I need to lose some weight first”.  Hearing this comment drives me nuts!

I want to help you passionately and unconditionally love the body that you are in right now.  I want to show you that you are sexy, beautiful, worthy, and powerful just as you are.

Even with those extra 10, 20 or more pounds that you think you need to lose.

That kind of radical self-love is on access to us all when we step outside of our comfort zones and invest our relationship with ourselves.  Just imagine how it would feel to live liberated and shamelessly in love with yourself.

Now, I totally understand wanting to look and feel your best the day of your session. And, what I am getting at is that this will happen despite the weight that you are, babe!

So, here are four reasons that you do NOT need to lose weight before your LA boudoir photo shoot:

#1: Our Slimming Camera Angles, Poses, and Image Retouching:

During your photo shoot, I’ll be working behind the camera to make sure that your final images are pieces of fine art that you’ll be OBSESSED with.

Between our slimming camera angles, stunning posesand expert image retouching, you will see your most goddess-like self shine through.  These things also help us keep the focus in your images on your divine beauty and strength… your self-perceived imperfections will be the last thing you’re thinking about.

#2: To Experience the Power of Accepting and Loving Yourself Right Now:

We all have those inner voices that tell us that we are not good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, etc.  When we let those voices dictate our actions, guess what?! They don’t go away. They will still be talking you out of loving yourself even if you did hit your goal weight.

It’s incredibly empowering to change that narrative or negative self-talk and choose to love and accept yourself as you are right now.  Your boudoir shoot will help you do that.

#3: Boudoir Is About Embracing Who You Are in Each Stage of Life:

One of my favorite things about boudoir is that it’s for everyone during any stage of life.  We are constantly evolving and having your images as a way to reflect on your personal growth is extremely grounding.

It helps us build our confidence over time and reconnect with the core of who we are. In fact, many of my returning clients come back to visit me to commemorate life’s milestones year after year.

#4: You Are a Role Model to Other Women and Girls:

It’s so easy to forget how much our life choices impact those around us.  Being able to share your boudoir experience with your girlfriends and the young women in your life is actually one of the most rewarding parts of the boudoir experience.

Simply hearing about a woman making an effort to really love themselves encourages other women to do the same.  Empowered women empower women.

I always remind my Clients, especially those with daughters, that it is SO incredibly therapeutic for young women to see their Moms loving on themselves. Having your photos on display as wall art for example, serves as a daily reminder to both you and your daughters that we are worthy of being honored- no matter our size. Imagine young women growing up with this idea from the start?? The world would look like a much different place.

Your photographs can also serve as archives of your life that your daughters can look back on. Many of my clients also choose to add beauty portraits to their photo shoot for this reason.  Learn more about our beauty portraits here.

To Book an LA Boudoir Shoot:

The first step to booking a boudoir photo shoot in LA or Tulum is to schedule a 15-20 minute phone consultation with the studio.  During this time, we’ll chat through what to expect, I’ll answer any questions you may have, and we’ll book your boudoir shoot!:

Much Love,

Lindsay
