La Veleta is one of Tulum’s hottest neighborhoods. In the last few years, it has grown rapidly and has become a tourist favorite for some pretty obvious reasons. In this post, you’ll discover why I can’t recommend enough that you consider staying in (or at least exploring) La Veleta while visiting Tulum for your destination boudoir shoot.
Let’s explore why…
For one, La Veleta is Tulum’s most recently developed area and is a hub for luxury condo towers and boutique Airbnbs. These accommodations are top quality, yet tend to be more affordable than Tulum’s Hotel Zone. (View our, Where to Stay While Visiting Tulum, blog post for our hotel zone and in-town recommendations)
In addition, La Veleta is a prime location situated between the beach and the city. Tulum recently added a direct access road to the beach from La Veleta. This means what used to be a cross town trip to the beach is now a 10-minute scooter ride!
On the other hand, La Veleta is a 10-15 minute bike ride from El Centro (Tulum’s city center). So, no matter what activities you have planned in Tulum, they will be easily accessible from your La Veleta stay.
Finally, La Veleta has become known for it’s chic and up-and-coming social and fine dining scenes. From casual hipster eats, to world-class restaurants, to markets, and traditional healing ceremonies, there are endless things to do while visiting La Veleta.
Here are our top recommendations for restaurants, activities, and accommodations in La Veleta:
