A surviving and thriving woman is on the blog today. Teri kicked breast cancer’s ass and wanted to document her journey in photographs, loving on her body and honoring what it had been through. What a celebration of life and triumph! Teri, I’m so glad that I had the privilege of working with you on your healing journey. You are truly an inspiration to so many women..XOXO
Let’s read what Teri had to say about her boudoir session experience:
Q: What made you want to schedule a boudoir session with Lindsay Carlisle Boudoir?
A: I had been looking at her work for awhile and was in complete awe of her beautiful images. I wanted to do this for me.
Q: How did you feel in the days leading up to your session?
A: Excited and nervous. But couldn’t wait to meet Lindsay and get my pictures done. It was fun to decide and buy my lingerie. Not anything I would normally do.
Q: What was the actual session experience like for you?
A: It was the most empowering experience of my life. Lindsay makes you feel like you can do anything. I have never felt so sexy and beautiful.
Q: Were you nervous?
A: No, after getting my hair and makeup done I felt so beautiful the nerves were gone.
Q: How did you feel while being photographed?
A: Lindsay makes you feel so comfortable and coaches you to get the most incredible pictures. I totally trusted her.
Q: Did having your boudoir photos taken help shape your ideas at all about self-love and body acceptance?
A: After being a breast cancer survivor with a double mastectomy I have lots of scars. I didn’t have very much self love with my body. But after doing this session that has all changed. Lindsay makes you feel empowered, sexy, beautiful and in love with your body image. I have learned through this experience to love my body. I did this for me and am very happy I did.
Q: How do you feel now, the days or weeks following your boudoir session?
A: I am still on a high and smile every time I think about that day. I love looking at my pictures. If I’m having a bad day about myself I go back and look at my images. I’ve come a long way and I know that I am enough and victorious.
Q: Would you do it again?
A: Absolutely and I’ve told all the women I know to do it. It is life changing and we as women need to self love and take time for ourselves.
